Gareth Sion Jenkins
Gareth’s first poetry book, Recipes for the Disaster, won the 2019 Anne Elder award. His poetry short-films have screened at festivals around the world and he makes text-based art at SQ1 studios. In 2020 Gareth founded the small press Apothecary Archive where he publishes all manner of things experimental and creative. In 2021 he took over one of Australia’s longest running poetry publishers, 5 Islands Press. For the last 15 years Gareth has been building The Atomic Book—an online digital archive of the work of Australia’s greatest Outsider Artist, Anthony Mannix. His masters in psychology was spent measuring the brain’s frontal positive slow wave and his doctorate exploring the schizophrenic writing and artmaking of Anthony Mannix. He is the editor of The Toy of the Spirit (Puncher & Wattmann, 2019), the first book-length publication of Anthony’s collected writings. More can be found on his website: apothecaryarchive.com
